Tickets are selling like hot cakes for the Grand Re-open- ing Gala Evening on Sept. 11. It will start a little earlier than usual with a reception at 5 p.m. The formal ceremony begins at 5:45 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The en- tertainment is by The Dream- boats, four young men who play and sing music from the '60s and '70s and are a plea- sure to dance to. Don't dance? Then come and enjoy watching others dance and enjoy the music. There will be a cash bar. There was a full bus for the monthly trip to Rama. If you are interested in any of the trips offered by the Cen- tre drop in and check out the sign-up sheets. The travel desk is open every Monday and Friday, 9 a.m. to noon. When the travel desk is offer- ing seats at a show it is impor- tant that you sign up as soon as possible as there is always an early cut-off date for seats at a show. The name drawn at last Friday's 50/50 draw had not added their name to the list or loonie to the box, so the weekly 50/50 next Friday should total over $100. Real Tetreault and I were at Blue Springs Golf Course discussing our lunch menu for the Sept. 17 golf game. We always invite the George- town members to join us. We will be enjoying squash soup and their famous Monte Cristo sandwich followed by apple crisp and ice-cream. Tickets are available at the reception desk, and the price is the same for members and friends. Lunch on Friday, Aug. 8 will be soup and sandwiches plus, of course, dessert, tea and coffee.
