Conversations With The Ladies Of Lucy Maud Montgomery is a collection of mono- logues and duologues taken from the eight books that comprise the Anne Of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery. It features ten actors, all from the Peel Region, all differ- ent ages, says theatre director Marion Abbott. She collected and edited the "conversations." The play will open with Anne's very fa- mous speech that begins with "I suppose you are Mr. Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables?" and closes with a letter Anne writes to Gilbert at the end of her time at Windy Poplars. In between, the audience will spend time with Mrs. Rachel Lynde, Diana Barry, Katherine Brooke, Ruby Gillis and, one of Marion's per- sonal favourites, Miss Cornelia Bryant from Anne's House Of Dreams, along with many others. It features the incredible sto- ries and ideas each of these amazing women have to share, which highlights once again the incredible imagi- nation of Maud. These char- acters discuss everything from choosing a hat to wear, to marriage, to losing a child-- all with great passion, humour and truth. On Friday, Aug. 22, Conversations with the Ladies of Lucy Maud Montgomery opens at St. Paul's Parish Hall, 16 Adamson St. Shows continue, Aug. 23, 7:30 p.m.; Aug. 24, 3:30 pm.; Aug. 29-30, Sept. 12-13, 7:30 p.m.; Aug. 31, Sept. 7 and Sept. 14, 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 or two for $35.
