You're Kitten me right Meow!right Meow! YOU & YOUR PET Unfortunately, Leonardo DiCaprio can- not be with us but we certainly have a "great Gatsby" for you!" This intriguing handsome boy is an 83 lb white male German Shepherd who arrived at the Shelter as a stray, es- timated to be three years old. Like many dogs who arrive at our doors, Gats- by needs a family willing to work on his basic com- mands, and to fine-tune his leash walking. We find that during his stay Gatsby does listen to in- structions and tries to comply with the various staff who handle him. Once he has a stable home, the sky is the limit. Gatsby is housebroken, O.K. with other dogs, medium energy, loves playing ball but needs work on release. Gatsby even has a black spot on his tongue to help placement of the treats he enjoys receiving! Gatsby would be great with an active adult family or one with children over 10 years old. Gatsby's nature is happy-go-lucky, friendly, confident, an adventurous soul who would love to go hiking or jogging and would blossom as an important member of a family who will spend time with him. This boy is a real ladies' man, loves affection, attention and praise. Handsome Gats- by has a wonderful thick plush coat which may well need a professional groomer twice a year to keep him comfortable and looking great. All in all Gatsby is a very nice dog with tons of potential and very deserving of a second chance. Interested families should call the Shelter at 519-833-2287 or e-mail adoptions@uppercredit.com to ar- range a meet and greet. Introducing The Great Gatsby By JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society volunteer Lola was a good mom: she kept her kit- tens clean, fed and did her best for them, while trying to survive outdoors on a rural property. It's not known why she was outside-- she is defi- nitely an indoor cat. Her kit- tens have been adopted and now it's Lola's time to be taken care of and cherished. She is enjoying her foster home where she is the cen- ter of attention and she no longer has the responsibil- ity of raising kittens. She loves to have her long soft coat brushed and clipping her nails is no problem. She is trying very hard to be a lap cat because it means she receives more pets but for now she snuggles close and is happy. Lola enjoys the company of people: she meows quietly for extra atten- tion and greets her foster family at the door when they arrive home. She is grateful to be inside with people and shows no indication of wanting to return outdoors. Lola is about two years old and has the look of "I've seen it all". She was friendly with other cats and had no issues with a visiting dog. Lola would like a quieter home with peo- ple who would enjoy her gentle demean- our and brushing her silky coat to make her beautiful. Lola will be at Pet Valu, 235 Guelph St. with other NHKR young cats on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 2:30- 4 p.m. Check out the available kittens, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information: Barb, 905-873- 8547 or www.nhkr.ca By BARB JOHNSON North Halton Kitten Rescue volunteer Lola is a happy snuggler Sally (8) was surrendered with her daughter Sparky (6); both are very lovely Calicos. Six months is too long to be stressed, hiding and fearful. Her only solace is her daughter to whom she is bonded. Sally and Sparky are available for $100 each and would flourish in an adult home or family with older children. Hopefully they will not have to be separated and would settle in really well together. Call the Shelter, 519-833-2287 or e-mail adoptions@uppercredit.com. Stressed Sally wants home with daughter Sparky
