Already registered as candidates are incum- bent Jane Fogal and newcomer John Cooke. Candidates have until Sept. 12 to file their nomination papers to run for one of the 11 posi- tions on town council, includ- ing mayor, or regional chair or school trustee. A total of 69 charges were laid in a joint truck safety enforcement project in Halton Hills conducted by Halton Police and the Ministry of Transporta- tion. Uniform officers from Milton and Georgetown, and officers from Halton Regional Police Service's Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit, and Ministry of Transportation stopped and inspected 27 commercial vehicles in the Trafal- gar Rd./Hornby Rd. area. Nineteen ve- hicles were taken off the road until defects could be repaired and 69 charges were laid against the driv- ers and owners.
