Halton Police are investigating several daylight residential break- ins that occurred in Georgetown over the past few days. On Friday, police say cash and jewelry were taken from a Mc- Intyre Cr. home sometime be- tween 12:30-3 p.m. The lock on a rear door was forced open to gain entry and the home was ran- sacked. Also on Friday, cash and an- tique currency were taken from a Shelley St. home sometime be- tween 11:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The homeowner returned home to find the rear door damaged, the house ransacked and items miss- ing. On Monday, about 1:15 p.m., a Gairey Dr. resident heard a loud smash coming from the back of a neighbouring home and saw a male leaving the house. He was seen getting on a mountain bike and riding it north on Gairey Dr. to Guelph St. He is described as 5'8"to 5'10", heavy-set with a short, reddish beard and hair. Also on Monday, police say a Rosefield Dr. homeowner came home to find the rear patio door ajar and the house rummaged through. Missing is a wedding band. Police believe all of the break- ins are related. They advise resi- dents to contact police if they notice any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighbourhood.
