Submitted photo Rookie Eagles OBA champs Georgetown bats got hot at just the right time as the rookie Ea- gles posted a 5-1 record and won the Baseball Ontario B champi- onship tournament in Chatham earlier this month. The lone Georgetown Base- ball Association team to capture a provincial title this year, the rookie Eagles avenged a loss to Woodstock earlier in the 12-team, double-knockout event to beat the same club 11-2 in the final. Georgetown played some strong defence in the early stages of the tourney before the offence broke out in the semis. The Eagles finished the season with a 34-19 record, including a 31-9 clip to close out the year. Raiders suffer first loss Lee Award recipients The Georgetown Soccer Club recent- ly held its Closing Day for the 2014 house league season and presented the recipients of the annual Steven Lee Award for fair play and sportsmanship.
