Directed by Carol Beauchamp and produced by Gina Van Raalte, Always A Bridesmaid will be performed at the John Elliott Theatre, 9 Church St., Georgetown on Nov. 7, 8, 12, 13, 14 15 evenings at 8 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9. This play chronicles the lives of four strong southern belles of a certain age-- Libby Ruth, Monette, Deedra and Char- lie. Having promised, no matter what, to be bridesmaids at each other's weddings, they still find themselves obligated three decades later. Over the past seven years, Sedalia Ellicott (Patricia Ball) has helped them to host their weddings at her beautiful southern plantation, in some cases, sever- al times. These hilarious marital mishaps are revealed through flashbacks as Libby Ruth's daughter Keri (Tara McLearnon) weaves their story amid her wedding toasts. Libby Ruth (Angela Gibson) is the true romantic that holds the band to- gether, married to her high school sweet- heart. She truly believes in fairy tales with happily ever after endings. The flirtatious, buxom Monette (Sharonne Young) con- tinues to go through husbands, hoping to find "Mr. Right" just through sheer numbers. Deedra (Margaret Brady) is a no-nonsense judge who willingly battles anything, including transvestites, to keep her promise to always be present. And then there is Charlie (Gillian Taggart)! No one expected this complaining, tree hugging, independent woman to ever get married-- including Charlie herself. But she also finds herself preparing to walk down the aisle at Laurel Oaks. For tickets, $24 (adult); $20 (seniors 60+) and $5 (students with ID) call the JET Box Office 905-877-3700 or visit www.haltonhills/theatre.
