Ballantyne, a teacher at Centre Welling- ton District High School in Fergus for the past 15 years, said Canadians from all walks of life are "expressing great dissatisfaction with the current Conservative government." "Our support for veterans has dwindled with tragic results. Our record on climate change and carbon emissions has disre- spected scientists and made us an inter- national laughing stock," said Ballantyne. "Youth unemployment and post secondary debt both are at record levels." She said, "appallingly just last week Harper said that over 1,000 missing and murdered aboriginal women are not high on my radar." "I can no longer stand by and watch Harper's Conservatives continue to destroy our great nation and treat our democratic institutions with such disrespect." Her announcement event is set for Jan. 7.
