The Committee of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body that considers applications for minor variances from the Town's Comprehensive Zoning By-law and applications for severance (consent, easements, leases in excess of 21 years and lot additions). Decisions made by the Committee of Adjustment may be appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board. Members receive a per diem of $130.00 per hearing attended and $140.00 per hearing for the Chair of the Committee. In order to be considered for appointment to the Committee, applicants must meet the following criteria: • A resident of the Townof Caledon; • Not anemployeeof the Townof Caledon; • Available for daytimehearings; • Preferencewill be granted to thosewith a planning, real estate, legal, engineering or agricultural background; • Previous committee or tribunal experiencepreferred; and • Havenot beenappointed to theCommittee ofAdjustment formore than three termsof Council. The three-year grant will be used to hire a part-time volunteer coordinator.
