And while the Raiders remain as one of the league's stronger clubs with a 26-4-3-5 record in 2014-15, the Buzzers are unchar- acteristically experiencing a down year, dropping a 7-0 decision in Georgetown Sat- urday night. The South/West Conference-leading Raiders received a pair of goals from line- mates Anthony Marra and Steve Hladin and netminder Marc Williams registered his fifth shutout of the campaign. Zack Dybowski, John Adams and Blake Jones also tallied for Georgetown, now up by nine points over the Toronto Patriots  and Jr. Canadiens for top spot in the confer- ence standings. The Raiders also added some depth to the blue line this week as OJHL clubs had to cut down their rosters by Jan. 10. Head coach & GM Greg Walters welcomed 19-year-old defenceman Thomas Welsh back into the fold for the playoff push  in what could be termed a circuitous return for the 5-foot-11, 210-pound Hamilton native. Welsh was considered one of the top rookie rearguards in the OJHL two years ago with  the Raiders  before signing with the OHL's Mississauga Steelheads midway through the season. He played at Brock University in St. Catharines last year before joining the Kitchener Rangers this fall and the OHL club assigned him to its Jr. A affili- ate in Georgetown last week. He picked up an assist in the win over St. Mike's. Next up for the Raiders is a home date with the Stouffville Spirit Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., followed by a trip to Burlington Friday to take on the last-place Cougars. They'll also host the Wellington Dukes Saturday at the Alcott Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m. MEMORIAL MEMENTO Six- year-old Caleb Dupuis and dad Pierre purchased a brick from the now-demolished Memorial Arena Friday evening after participating in the Coaches' Cup night of hockey at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex. Bricks from Memorial Arena were, with an authenticity stamp marked 1927- 2012, sold for $10 each that evening, with proceeds going to the Stay Home & Play campaign to help pay for the three new ice surfaces in Halton Hills. Pierre Dupuis said his son's first time on skates happened three years ago at Memorial Arena when they had the ice to themselves for an im- promptu lesson. Halton Hills Arena Users' Group co-chair Steve Highfield said the bricks will be available for purchase on Saturday mornings at Mold-Masters SportsPlex in the com- ing weeks.
