Photo by Lisa Tallyn Farm forum to focus on innovation Innovation in agriculture will be the focus of the third-annual Hal- ton Region Agricultural Forum on Thursday, Jan. 29 in Milton. The free event, which will be held at Country Heritage Park in the Niagara Room, will zero in on some of the newest innovations in the farming and agricultural industries that are available to farmers, food processors, other agri-product processors and relat- ed associations and organizations. It will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. "Preserving our active and vibrant farming community con- tinues to be a top priority for regional council," said Regional Chair Gary Carr. "The annual Agricultural Forum not only provides members of the agricultural community with an opportunity to network with peers, but it also gives them the chance to discuss emerging topics and issues that are relevant to their businesses." The lineup for this year's session includes four keynote speak- ers. 'What's Growin On at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre' will be presented by the centre's research director, Michael Brownbridge Mark Hayhoe, owner of K2Milling in Tottenham and Kevin Stemmler, co-owner of Stemmler Meats and Cheese, Heidelberg, willdiscuss 'Developing Niche Markets'.
