These topics are only some of the presentations that will occur this year at the sixth-annual Halton Hills Cultural Symposium. With the theme of "Helping Culture Grow," this Symposium takes aim at hands on information that people can take away and use. Other events include speed networking and a panel discussion. The Symposium will take place on Fri- day, Jan. 30 (evening) and Saturday, Jan. 31 (to 4 p.m.) at the beautifully restored Acton Town Hall, 19 Willow St, N in Ac- ton. It is with great pleasure that the Sym- posium is presenting Richard Flohil as their keynote speaker on the Friday night. For over 40 years, Flohil and his team have represented music industry giants such as k.d. lang, Colin James, Downchild, Serena Ryder, Loreena McKennitt and countless others. Flohil has won numerous awards, including the Ontario Council of Folk Fes- tivals Estelle Klein Lifetime Achievement Award, 2006 and the SOCAN Special Achievement Award, 2009. Under the general Symposium theme of "Helping Culture Grow," Flohil will bring his charm and humour to the audi- ence while drawing on his years of work- ing with the best. This Symposium is a wonderful oppor- tunity for you to learn and to meet with many other people in the cultural com- munity where you can share experiences.
