Why not try an ancient activity that is new again at Crawford Lake Conservation Area and experience the wonder of nature in winter time. Let knowledgeable sta� at Crawford Lake lead you on a guided snowshoe hike. � is year, Crawford Lake has the traditional Moonlight Snowshoe Hike it has o� ered for many years and has also added a new Family Sunset Snowshoe Hike. � e Moonlight Snowshoe Hike is not recommended for children, while the Fam- ily Sunset Snowshoe Hike is intended to provide a fun, family friendly introduction to snowshoeing. � e family hike is appropriate for children ages 6 to 14 years. � e snowshoes aren't suited for younger children, but younger siblings are welcome to slide along (please bring your own sled!). Each hike begins with basic instruction and some historical background on the sport of snow- shoeing. Next, you will strap on a pair of snow- shoes, and take a guided trek through the Crawford Lake woodlands. Your guide will point out some of the natural features of the area, and motivate you along the way. At the end of the evening relax by a � re with a steaming cup of hot chocolate. � e Moonlight Snowshoe Hikes at Crawford Lake take place every Saturday in January and Feb- ruary from 7 to 9 p.m. � e cost for the Moonlight Hikes is $16 for adults and $11 for seniors + HST. � e Sunset Snowshoe Hikes at Crawford Lake take place every Saturday in January and February from 4 to 6 p.m. � e cost for the program is $16 for adults and $11 for kids (ages 6 & up) + HST. Both pro- grams require pre-registration.
