Cherished brother-in- law to Pat (Bi l l Patterson), late Bernice (Glen Gibbs) , M aureen (Greg Cameron) , late Jack ( Joyce) , Phi l l ip and late Michael (Jane). Wayne spent over 30 years dedicated to the game of hockey, as a devoted hockey father ; then as a committed volunteer ; honoured as Pres ident of the GMHA (1985 - 1990) ; Halton H i l l s Hockey Her i tage Award (2001); elected President of the OMHA (2010 - 2011); and elected t o t h e H a l t o n H i l l s H a l l o f Fa m e ( 2 0 1 4 ) . Wa y n e w a s a c r a f t s m a n carpenter and retired Building Inspector. He will be sadly missed. The family will receive friends and family at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Wednesday, January 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A celebration of Wayne's l ife will be held in the chapel on Thursday, Januar y 22nd, 2015 at 1 :00pm. They were w o n d e r f u l , i d y l l i c y e a r s , w i t h a l l those early morning hockey games, soccer, homework , church, and the breaking up of boys fights - you get used to that par t . And then there were the books. She was a voracious reader, and the authors of the world often had to work over time just to keep ahead of her. Finally Clara and N o r m m ove d to G o d e r i c h , a q u i e t and beautiful town they both loved. Clara was a warm and loving soul , w h o c o u l d a l w a y s b e c o u n t e d o n for a big smi le, laugh, or k nowing ro l l o f h e r e ye s . S h e w a s h a p p i l y m a r r i e d t o N o r m f o r 6 0 y e a r s , and took great and t ireless care of h e r c h i l d r e n , g r a n d c h i l d r e n a n d d a u g h t e r s - i n - l a w. S h e h a d m a n y great fr iends that she kept in close touch with. No one lucky enough to experience her laugh, jokes, stories, wise advice or her many Christmas d inners wi l l ever forget her. Stewart impacted the lives of many in our community either t h ro u g h h i s h o m e re p a i r b u s i n e s s ( S te w a r t ' s Ca r p e n t r y ) o r h i s e x t r a curricular activities such as the "Old Far ts Club" lead by Bruce Patt ison. Stewart was also popular among the mall-walkers and coffee drinkers for his sense of humour and many stories. He and his wife Rika covered many miles in their motor home, over the years and made many friends along t h e way. I t n e e d s to b e s a i d w i t h much appreciation that the doctors and nurses at Georgetown Hospital w e n t b e y o n d e x p e c t a t i o n s i n t h e care for Stewar t dur ing his recent illness and passing.
