It is hard to hear how sad and desperate they are to find their missing loved one. Sadly most of those pets will never find their way back home again, frequently because there is no way for found pets to be identified and returned to their families. Microchipping can change that. A few years ago, a young man brought his dog to us for examination of a limp. During the examination I became suspicious that this dog had not actually belonged to this young man for very long. I scanned this dog and fortunately there was a microchip. This dog actually belonged to a family up in Ottawa. The dog had gotten lost during a walk in the woods. This young man had found him and decided to keep him instead of looking for his rightful family. It is only because this dog had been microchipped that he was reunited with his family. While the dog was missing for six months and was found many miles away, it was the microchip that finally brought this family back together. Microchipping is an easy, safe and permanent way of identifying your pet. Let's create more happy endings with microchipping.
