One option crosses Winston Churchill Boule- vard south of Bovaird Drive and then runs between Ninth and Tenth lines to join up with highways 401/407. Potential interchanges being considered are at Five Sideroad and Tenth Line. The second potential route would cross Winston Churchill Blvd., south of Five Sid- eroad, then across Tenth and Ninth lines to Hwy. 401. Interchanges being considered are at Winston Churchill Blvd. and Tenth Line. The highway is expected to have a min- imum of four to six lanes and a separate adjacent transit way. It will be needed to handle the expected 1.5 million addition- al vehicle trips each day in the GTA West Study area by 2031. It's not known when the highway would be built as currently there's no government commitment to fund its design or construction. Local residents will soon have another chance to comment on the proposed high- way. The study team is planning to hold community workshops in the spring and then a series of public information centres (PIC) in the fall. Details on a preferred route are expected to be available at the PICs. For more information visit www.gta- west.com. Continued from page 12 Proposed hwy will have 4-6 lanes-- at minimum
