Krosoczka Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette is concerned about comments made by a Milton councillor regarding the 400-acre CN intermodal facility proposed for south Milton. "Robert Duvall may be a fine actor, but for rookie councillor from Milton, Robert Duvall-- the jury's out," said Bonnette at Monday evening's Halton Hills Council meeting. The remark that has the Mayor upset was made by Duvall during a recent CTV interview. The Milton councillor said, "what we would like to see is it (the CN facility) being built north of the 401 if possible." Duvall added, "those are options we've thrown on the table." "It doesn't take a genius to realize Milton is built up north of the 401, so he's suggested Halton Hills," said Bonnette. The Mayor wants to know who the "we" is that Duvall is referring to, wondering if it means a letter has been sent to CN from the Town of Milton that the Town of Halton Hills doesn't know about or if it's "sim- ply a rookie councillor being overzealous." "I just have to wonder if this is a hidden position from Milton or Milton staff," said Bonnette, adding that's what happened back in 2011 when the Milton CAO wrote a staff report supporting two highways coming through Halton Hills "that essentially back- stabbed Halton Hills." Bonnette said at that time there was no consulta- tion with Halton Hills or Halton Region, but he said War brewing between Town, Milton over CN intermodal site EFFIE DIMOU Sales Representative www.georgetownrealty.ca edimou@georgetownrealty.ca Thinking of buying or selling?
