Cost of candles $5. (children free). The public is invited to gather at the Georgetown Legion, 127 Mill St. at 6:30 p.m. sharp. In Acton, the Silent Candle Light Walk begins at 7 p.m. and the candlelight walkers walk from either St Alban's church or the Old Hide House to the Cenotaph on Mill St. The Walk honours veterans and recognizes the sacrifices and achievements of all those who served overseas and on the home front, in cause of peace and freedom. These com- memorative ceremonies inspire and engage our young Canadians to learn about the contributions of our veterans. Literacy North Halton's 12th-annual Grate Groan Up Spelling Bee fundrais- er: 5:30 p.m. at Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton.
