To start we will take our guests on a tour to ex- plore the Park's wildlife habitat features. We might spot spring flowers, birds, frogs, snakes and small mammals. Then, take advantage of an opportunity to build nesting boxes for the House Wren song- bird with WPEC volunteer Pat Kelly. Bird boxes may be used to enhance bird living spaces, espe- cially in urban areas. The ones built can either be made to be put out in your yard (for a $5 donation) or to install in Willow Park habitats. The WPEC Nearby Nature School Programs entice youngsters to understand where their food comes from by planting in the WPEC Organic Veg- etable Gar- dens. This day, you too will have a chance to start a fami- ly "Snacking and Salad Garden" to take home and watch grow as you and your children water and care for it. In no time, there will be fresh veg- gies to taste-test. Consider joining us at 1 p.m. when WPEC cel- ebrates Mother Earth through a Drumming Circle as the original peoples of this land did. The rhyth- mic drum beating is much like our own heartbeat. Everyone is welcome to participate-- you don't need to bring a drum. Kids can make their own drums and shakers between 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pavilion. Enjoy nature on Mother's Day at Willow Park Ecology Centre On Saturday, May 9, Halton Region will hold the first of four rain barrel truckload sales events in Georgetown as part of Halton's water efficiency program. The event will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre on Trafal- gar Rd. Halton residents may purchase a rain barrel for $40 (proof of Halton residency required).
