This spring we could all enjoy a little colour and in- spiration, and Red Door Gallery's new show "Nature's Marquee" has just that. Photographer Melissa Auchincloss-Smith and painter Linda Donais Weir capture glimpses of co- lour in nature and want to share it with you. "As artists who love nature we strive to slow down moments in our existence; the moments where you are struck by the beauty that surrounds you in the world. The moments where the light is skimming over a dock at sum- mer's end, the moment of silence in the morning as the mist is hovering over the calm water," they stated in a press release. "We preserve these moments; all you need to do is stop, take a breath and enjoy the calming images of nature's marquee all around you." Red Door Gallery is hosting an open eve- ning Friday, May 22, 5-8 p.m. when guests can browse, enjoy a cool drink, relax after a busy week and see the show. Other events are planned too; a painting evening and pho- tography nature walk. See www. reddoorgallery.ca for details. The show runs May 21-June 7. Gallery hours are Thursdays to Sunday, 12-5 p.m., with special extended hours for the Farmer's Market on Saturday, June 6, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nature inspired latest exhibit at Red Door Gallery Field of Blue, Linda Weir
