An Acton man is facing charges in connection with a pharmacy robbery in Toronto earlier this month. Toronto Police say the robbery occurred about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 10 in the Lakeshore Blvd. W. and Mimico Ave. area. Police had arrested and charged two Toronto residents in connection with the incident and is- sued a warrant for the arrest of an Acton man, who surrendered himself to police on Tuesday, May 12. Charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, assault with a weapon, ad- minister a noxious substance, disguise with intent and possession of property obtained by crime is Nicholas Pereira, 18, of Acton. He is to appear in Toronto court June 15. ****** Halton Hills firefighters were called to a report of grass fire on Regional Road 25, north of 17 Sidero- ad about 11:50 a.m. Saturday (May 9). When crews arrived the property owner was using a frontend loader to get a large fire in a field that was slowly moving toward a group of hay bales under control The fire had also jumped the fence at the rear of the property. By the time crews were able to ex- tinguish the blaze, approximately 10 acres on the property had burned. The fire started from a pile of brush that the property owner was burning with- out a valid burn permit. The homeowner was ad- vised that a burn permit is required and no further burning was to take place until one was obtained. Acton man turns himself in after warrant issued
