The festival runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 at the Kelso Con- servation Area in Milton and is open to stu- dents in grades 2 to 5. Halton-area teachers can register their classes online at www.hcwf.ca until Sept. 18, 2015. Teachers are encouraged to register ear- ly as there are limited spots per grade. The Halton Children's Water Festival was first held in 2006 and was launched with the assistance of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Over the years, the festival has expanded with more students participating over more days. The 2015 festival will feature a variety of activities designed to educate chil- dren about water-- one of the world's most precious natural resources-- in a fun, outdoor environment. The cost is $5 per child, which includes a full day at the festival and busing to and from the event. Residents and community groups who would like to volunteer this year can con- tact Halton Region by dialing 311.
