Trying to think of something different to do with the kids or even for yourself? The Credit Valley Artisans (CVA) have an ongoing summer drop-in class on Friday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon where you can try an introduction to different art forms and media-- from photographing works of art with your own equipment to printmaking, and colour theory. You even get to suggest themes for future sessions of "Friday Explora- tions" at the CVA cottage in Cedarvale Park, Georgetown. CVA is also setting up some child-friendly courses on weekdays in the summer, when parents or grandparents and their young bud- ding artists can work together to create works of art. Visit the CVA website, www.creditval- leyartisans.ca and sign up for a course, or sug- gest one that you would like to take. Are you looking for something to do this fall that's new, exciting and creative? There's always something going-- with four guilds to choose from: Heritage Handweavers & Spinners, the Palette & Pencil Guild, the Pot- ters and Sculptors, and the Stained Glass Ar- tisans-- there is bound to be something that will tickle your fancy! In addition to multiple week classes, CVA also offers weekend and single day workshops for those who want to try something out shorter term. CVA members will be at the Georgetown Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings in September. Don't be shy, ask what's new and how to sign up for the ever-popular classes or workshops with one of the four guilds. If you don't find what you're looking for, the CVA welcomes your ideas. Email: cours- es@creditvalleyartisans.ca Mark your calendars-- the very popular Christmas Sale this year will be held Nov. 21- 22, at The Cottage in Cedarvale Park.
