See pg. 39 Marshall to hold dual roles of CAO and Fire Chief Longtime Fire Chief Brent Mar- shall has been named new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Town of Halton Hills. "Brent has a long record of success and service to the com- munity. I know I speak for Coun- cil when I say that we are excited that he will be leading the Town during an exciting period for our community. We have enjoyed a strong working relationship and I look forward to continuing it," said Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bon- nette. He succeeds David Smith, who resigned last week. Marshall will also continue to hold the position of Town Fire Chief, a position he has held since 2007. A life-long resident of Acton, Marshall has served as Town Fire Chief since 2007, as well as Deputy CAO since last year. In addition to a 45-year career as a firefighter, Marshall has enjoyed a suc- cessful and distinguished career in mu- nicipal government in a variety of progressive public works and ad- ministration roles, culminating as the CAO of Halton Region. "It truly is an honour to be named CAO of my hometown," said Marshall. "These are excit- ing and interesting times for our community.
