The program's focus was to teach girls to love la- crosse at a young age by working on the fundamentals of the game. "I've always done shooting," said Baby Bulldogs' head coach Kevin Salmon. "I've worked on defence with them. I've worked on general stick skills, but I want to make sure that they're having fun going along. So I always make sure it's very game-oriented, because that's what the kids really get into." Salmon credits this year's success to pricing the program competitively with baseball, football, and soccer, the other major summer sports. For $75, each participant received all the necessary equipment to play and train with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic coaching staff. The girls also had the opportunity to train with Casey Lyons, a Georgetown native who is now playing lacrosse competitively at the University of Delaware, along with Andrew Craig, former Jr. B Bulldog. The Baby Bulldogs represents the latest develop- ment for girls in the Halton Hills Minor Lacrosse As- sociation, which started running the girls-only field program in 2012. The organization has made progress promoting the program as a summer counterpart to hockey, and parents and coaches have high hopes for the future. "Hockey's great too. She loves both," said Russ Rob- inson, parent and Baby Bulldogs' coach, talking about his daughter Tea's experience with the program.
