As o f A ug . 1 9, 2 01 5 Halton Police: Acton driver blows nearly five times the legal limit A 55-year-old Acton man faces impaired driving charges after allegedly driving with nearly five times the legal limit of alcohol in his system on Wednesday eve- ning of last week. Police said they were contacted shortly before 6 p.m. after a man was denied the opportunity to purchase liquor at a Acton LCBO. This incident marked the man's third attempt to get alcohol throughout the day, officers said. Following this latest attempt LCBO staff reported seeing the man get in a ve- hicle and drive away. Police were contacted, with an officer arresting the man near his residence and transporting him to the police station where a Breathalyzer test was performed. Police said the testing yielded a read- ing of 360 mg/100ml-- nearly five times the legal limit. The 55-year-old Acton man has been charged with impaired driving and driv- ing with a blood-alcohol level over 80 mil- ligrams. Police remind the public that impaired driving is a crime in progress and any- one who suspects a driver to be impaired should contact 911.
