The company has been located on Armstrong Rd., Georgetown since 2000 and in Acton since 2005. The company also has a London, Ontario location, in operation since 2010. "Having lived in Georgetown for 60 years and volunteered extensively in the community, my heart has always been here," said Fraser Direct President Lois Fraser, in a press release issued last week. "I can assure everyone that this is still our home and that we will continue to support the com- munity as we do now, no matter where our company is located. We are excited to grow our business and continue to serve our clients from a brand new, state-of-the-art facility." The new facility, built by Prologis, is located at 8300 Lawson Road (near Steeles Ave. and Fourth Line). Fraser Direct will continue to operate its Ac- ton warehouse. The company has its own trucks (Fraser Direct Transport), which will operate out of Milton, an advantage in that GTA deliveries will be 20 minutes closer to their destination. Fraser Direct is involved in supply chain analy- sis, transportation management, customs clear- ance and order fulfillment services. Fraser started in distribution of published products in 2000, but quickly diversified into consumer packaged goods (fulfillment, secondary packaging, co-packing and project management). In 2005, the company expanded its supply chain and transportation management services division (Fraser Direct Lo- gistics) and there are now 27 people employed in the customs clearance, supply chain analytics and transportation management departments at Fra- ser Direct. Several years ago, Fraser entered the Natural Health Product marketplace and developed a ro- bust Quality Assurance program to attract clients. In the last year, Fraser has extended this to licens- ing to distribute pharmaceuticals, medical devices and controlled goods. "We have outgrown our prem- ises and we are presently operating out of four facilities" said Al Fraser, Vice President of Op- erations. "The efficiencies of consolidating three warehouses into one will reduce costs, eliminate double handling and make it easier to manage our staff and operations." The company intends to continue its two shift operation, covering 7 a.m. to midnight weekdays and will have additional weekend shifts as need- ed to accommodate its growing co-packing and secondary packaging operations. The company is hopeful that all of its employees will make the move to Milton with them.
