(BPCL) and Morrison Hershfield Limited (MH), to complete a Detail Design, Class Environmental Assessment Study and Construction for the replacement and widening of the following Highway 401 structures: Regional Road 25 Underpass (Site 10-056); 5th Line Overpass (Site 10-073/1&2); and Oakville Creek West Branch Overpass (Site 10-074/1&2). Please see adjacent map. Regional Road 25 Underpass During construction all interchange ramps will remain open, except during permitted hours of closures. In addition, pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times. One full closure of Highway 401 and Regional Road 25 will be required for a period of 18 hours, commencing from 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday night to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday to remove the existing structure. Advance notice of the closure will be provided. 5th Line Overpass and Oakville Creek West Branch Overpass The existing structures will be replaced concurrently and will accommodate the ultimate eastbound and westbound express and collector configuration along Highway 401. Pavement widening of the westbound lanes on the north side in the vicinity of 5th Line and Oakville Creek West Branch for approximately 1.2 km will be required to accommodate traffic detouring. Nightly lane closures on Highway 401 will be permitted to facilitate the work. 5th Line will be intermittently closed to vehicular traffic during construction, with 6th Line as the detour route during this closure. The ultimate 12 traffic lane configuration of Highway 401 previously received EA approval and is documented in a Transportation Environmental Study Report titled "Highway 401 Improvements from Trafalgar Road to Regional Road 25 Study (March 2013)". THE PROCESS The study has followed the approved planning process for a Group 'B' project in accordance with the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities, 2000 (Class EA). A Design and Construction Report (DCR) has been prepared which includes a summary of the detail design study and environmental assessment process undertaken for this project, existing environmental conditions, and the mitigation measures developed to address environmental concerns. The DCR will be available for public review on September 1, 2015 for a period of 30 days until September 30, 2015. The DCR will be available for viewing at the following locations during normal business hours: Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change Town of Milton Town of Halton Hills Central Region Clerk's Office Clerk's Office 5775 Yonge Street, 8th Floor 150 Mary Street 1 Halton Hills Drive Toronto, ON M2M 4J1 Milton, ON L9T 6Z5 Halton Hills, ON L7G 5G2 Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change Ministry of Transportation Halton Region Halton - Peel District Office Central Region Office of the Regional Clerk 300-4145 North Service Road Planning and Environmental Office 1151 Bronte Road Burlington, ON L7L 6A3 1201 Wilson Avenue, Building D, 3rd Floor Oakville, ON L6M 3L1 Downsview, ON M3M 1J8 COMMENTS If you would like to provide comments, or require additional project information, please contact: Mr. Chris Ryell and Mr. Harish Rupal, P.Eng.
