COMMUNITY Cadet Chief Warrant Officer Christopher Cameron from the 676 Lorne Scots Royal Canadian Army Cadets had an amazing and well-deserved opportunity this summer to represent Canada while training in Austra- lia. The Army Cadet Exchange (ACE) - Australia is an advanced training course available to senior Army cadets who have displayed dedication, knowledge and perse- verance throughout their cadet experience at the local level and at previous summer training courses. C/CWO Cameron was se- lected as one of six Army Cadets from across Canada to participate in ACE - Australia. "I am extremely grateful to have been picked for this opportunity of a lifetime. I was honoured to be able to represent the 676 Lorne Scots and the Army Cadet pro- gram abroad this summer." "One of the most interesting aspects to the training that I found was the difference in the environmental hazards between Can- ada and Australia Cadet programs. When out in the field here in Canada we watch for poison ivy, uneven terrain and sometime bears, there we had to be on the constant lookout for deadly snakes and spiders." The Army Cadet program offers a wide variety of exchange and advanced training opportunities each summer. Each of the many advanced training courses provides a unique opportunity for Cadets who have completed the mandatory program to further develop their skills and abilities. Cadets such as Cameron will have the opportunity to train with Cadets from Australia and spend some time learning about the country as well. Selected individuals participating in the exchange program represent the best of the Canadian Cadet program and something many senior cadets work hard to achieve.
