In past summers he has attended the Expedi- tion Leadership Instructor Course and the Rocky Mountain National Army Cadet Sum- mer Training Centre in Banff. He has been awarded both the Legion Medal of Excel- lence and the Lord Strathcona Medal. Cameron graduated from GDHS in June and will be attending Sheridan College this fall. Army Cadets is the oldest and one of the largest youth programs in Canada with a fo- cus on outdoor adventure activities. Army Cadets is a free program for young men and women, ages 12-18, providing the opportunity to test your limits through par- ticipation in challenging and exciting activi- ties. Based out of the Colonel John Roaf Bar- ber, ED. CD. Armoury in Georgetown, the 676 meets every Wednesday night 6:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. September to June. Continued from page 26 SNOWBIRDS FLY OVER NORTH HALTON: The inaugural Veterans Helping Veterans golf tournament began with plenty of excitement Thursday -- as the famed Snowbirds did a flyover of Granite Ridge Golf Club, on the border of Milton and Halton Hills. Organized by Fred Smith -- who's spent years helping veterans overcome drug abuse and PTSD -- the tournament also featured a visit from sports broadcaster Ron MacLean, who served as emcee. Veterans from all branches of the military took part in the first annual event. Councillor Bryan Lewis, who took the photo above, said that Mayor Rick Bonnette had to send a letter to the Snowbirds command agreeing to allow the jets to fly over Halton Hills.
