Snyder's popularly ac- claimed novel, Girl Runner, was chosen as the 2015 One Book, One Halton Hills se- lection. Since its announcement in June as the 2015 One Book selection, Halton Hills residents have been reading this historical fiction novel described as "an exquisitely crafted, deeply imagined novel…that un- folds with the surefootedness of an elite runner" by New York Times bestselling au- thor and One Book, One Halton Hills 2014 author, Cathy Marie Buchanan. "We're so excited to have Ms. Snyder coming to Halton Hills," said Beverley King, Adult Services Librarian and Chair of the One Book Committee. "Not only is she an accomplished writer but also is an interesting speaker. It should make for an entertaining evening." Carrie Snyder's Girl Run- ner has garnered rave reviews and has been showered with special attention. It was se- lected as a Finalist for the Rogers' Writers Trust Award in Fiction, was featured in the Globe and Mail's Top 10 Fall Reading List (2014) and has achieved international acclaim with reviews in The Independent (U.K), The Daily Mail (U.K), Publishers Weekly (U.S), National Post (CAN), Chatelaine Magazine (CAN).
