Project "Rural Impact" aims to slow down speeders in rural areas. Rural speed studies conducted by the Town of Milton confirm that speeding is a concern on a number of roads within the policing district and officers from the Response Teams recognize this. During the next four weeks, officers will be tasked with target- ing these roads during peak hours. They will adopt a zero tolerance approach and charge violators in a manner that reflects the speed at which they were caught driving. Special attention will be focused on those routes that have identified drivers trav- eling 50 km/h or more over the limit.
