Tom, in his 65th year, beloved husband of Elaine for 41 years. Loving father of Jennifer and her husband Jason Stinson, David, Nicolas and his partner Sara and Christopher and his partner Ruby. Proud Opa of Andrew and Jamie. Loved son of Truus Van Doorn and the late Nicolaas Van Doorn, and son-in-law of Marg and Les Edwards. Tom will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. A lifelong engineer with a tirelessly curious mind, he was president and a partner of Van Doorn Machine & Tool Ltd. which he co-founded nearly 30 years ago. He was our official quiz master, and loved to debate politics and history. He wrote his crosswords in pen, loved family dinners, and was most happy snoozing (snoring) with his family chatting and laughing around him. Dad was a fierce advocate for the underdog, and friends were always welcome in his home. Visitation was held at the J.S.
