The next game will be on Oct. 24 with the game starting at 7 p.m. Thirty-one people including Willie the Tyler bus driver and his wife enjoyed the visit to Elo- ra Raceway on Monday, Sept. 28 for the last week of the races. Many of our members were prize winners at the Acton Fall Fair. A sample of the excellent work is a picture of a pig painted by Rita Ladjansky and displayed in the Health and Wellness room together with other paint- ings created by members. The art class meets on Wednesday afternoons to paint and encour- age each other. I understand we were well represented in the Pa- per Tole and baking also. Forty people attended the presentation on the planned trip to Newfoundland on Tues- day, Sept. 29. Pat and Bev Jones gave a very informative slide show featuring some of the photos they had taken when on the "Seniors Tours" trip sev- eral years ago. They had lots of valuable information regarding the trip. We are hoping to go in late June in 2016. Following the slide show and information ev- eryone enjoyed sampling some of the "Newfi" treats that my daughter-in-law Trudy brought home for us after visiting her birthplace a couple of weeks ago. The Tuesday evening book club meeting was well attend- ed and the next Tuesday eve- ning program on Oct. 13 will be games night. Every Wednesday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. there will be a Se- niors Connector volunteer here who is educated and trained to help you with any questions you may have such as hous- ing options, information about the Community Care Access Centre, how to get help in your home, volunteer opportunities, long-term care and retirement living, renewing your Drivers li- cence at the age of 80 and much more. Please drop in with any questions you may have. Our first monthly draw took place on Sept. 31 and Mary Rob- ertson was the lucky winner of a beautiful silver necklace and earrings. The next draw will be for a Swarovski Austrian crys- tal seal. It will be drawn on Oct. 30. It comes with a presentation box and would make a delight- ful gift for someone special. The flu clinic will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1-8 p.m. Lunch on Friday, Oct. 16 will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a turkey lunch. There was no winner this week for the weekly 50/50 so next week it should be around $160.
