SATURDAY, OCT. 3 2:01 a.m.: Firefighters responded to an alarm activation in the area of Guelph St. and Rexway Dr. On scene, fire staff met with the on-shift manager who advised that the alarm was mali- ciously pulled by a group of kids leaving the building. Crews reset the pull sta- tion and instructed the staff on how to reset the alarm panel. SUNDAY, OCT. 4 2:46 a.m.: Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Elmore Dr. On scene staff checked the home using gas detectors and zero readings were found. A faulty detector is suspected and the homeowner was advised to have the unit replaced. 3:43 a.m.: Firefighters responded to a tanker assist on Dublin Line. While enroute, fire staff were advised they were not required on scene. 9:48 a.m.: Firefighters responded to an ambulance assist on Main St S. in Georgetown. Fire staff assisted with gaining entry to the apartment and cleared the scene. 10:23 a.m.: Firefighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle colli- sion at the intersection of Guelph St. and Mountainview Rd S. On scene fire staff assisted with patient care, disabled both vehicles and applied absorbent to affected spill areas. 3:41 p.m.: Firefighters responded to a burn complaint on Bowman St. No permit was available and the fire was extinguished. The occupant was ad- vised of the requirement for Burn Per- mits for any future burns. 6:59 p.m.: Firefighters responded to an unknown odour investigation on Hewson Cres. On scene staff met with the homeowner who advised there was a smell of gas. Fire staff checked the home using gas detectors and zero readings were found. 7:38 p.m.: Firefighters responded to an alarm activation on Ballantine Drive. On scene staff met with the homeowner who advised that their smoke alarm was sounding. Fire staff found no issues and advised the home- owner to vacuum and air out the unit. 9:57 p.m.: Firefighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Fifth Line and Five Sideroad. On scene, fire staff stabilized the vehicle and cleared the scene. TUESDAY, OCT. 6 1:10 p.m.: Firefighters responded to the report of a structure fire on Nor- mandy Blvd. Upon arrival heating contractors advised they were drilling holes through the exterior wall for vent piping when they noticed smoke come from one of the openings they created. Fire crews dismantled an area around the hole to find a smouldering fire in the wall had consumed insulation and particle board sheathing approximately a meter in diameter. The burnt portions were removed and extinguished. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 7 11:32 a.m.: Firefighters responded to the report of a person trapped in an elevator on Trafalgar Rd., south of Five Sideroad. On scene, fire staff reset the power to the elevator which made the elevator operational again freeing the person inside. 1:02 a.m.: Firefighters responded to a public assist on Argyll Rd., west of Mull Gate. On scene, staff met with the homeowner who indicated a possible problem with her new smoke alarm. A check of the home and system was done and no problems were found. 6:17 p.m.: Firefighters responded to an alarm activation on Park Ave. in Georgetown. On scene, fire staff com- pleted a check of the building and it was determined that testing and repairs completed by the alarm company earli- er in the day resulted in the false alarm. No further action required. FRIDAY, OCT. 9 11:50 a.m.: Firefighters responded to a burn complaint in the area of High- way 7 and Trafalgar Rd. N. Upon inves- tigation of the area, no smoke or fire was found. 3:11 p.m.: Firefighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle and a motor- cyclist on 10 Sideroad, west of Eighth Line. On scene, staff assisted ambu- lance with patient care and cleared the scene. SATURDAY, OCT. 10 3:16 p.m.: Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Trafalgar Rd. south of Steeles Ave. On arrival two vehicles with occupants had been moved to the nearby MTO park- ing lot. Fire staff assisted ambulance staff treat minor injuries. SUNDAY, OCT. 11 3:47 p.m.: Fire fighters responded to the report of a barbecue on fire on Somerville Rd. in Acton. On arrival staff found that food in a barbecue had burnt but was extinguished on their ar- rival. The fire was contained to the bar- becue and no damages were reported. 4:14 p.m.: Firefighters responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Adamson St N and Guelph St. in Norval.
