An officer observed a vehicle on Steeles Ave. traveling at a high rate of speed at around 1 p.m. After the vehicle was stopped, the officer found some prescription pills on the front seat in plain sight readily available to the driver. Charged with possession of a controlled sub- stance, stunt driving and driving in excess of 50 km/h over the speed limit is Pargit Brar, 29. ••• Three weapons charges were laid against a Brampton man following an incident early Sunday morning at Shoeless Joe's on Guelph St. in George- town. An intoxicated male was removed from the premises and while leaving he allegedly threat- ened to return with a gun. The man came back to the establishment a short time later and a bar patron claimed that the accused pointed what appeared to be a weapon at the complainant. Having fled the scene, the man was later located by Halton Regional Police, but no weapon was found. Patrick Doyle, 24, was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of weapons dangerous. ••• A Hamilton man is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle was spotted operating er- ratically in Acton on Sunday morning. Just before 4 a.m., a Halton Regional Police officer noticed the car being driven eastbound on Hwy. 7 out of Acton and followed it until reaching Main St. in George- town. The vehicle was pulled over and after speaking with the driver, the officer developed grounds to believe the driver had consumed alcohol.
