Hailey Robinson (right) and Alicia Rolke, 9, (Addison's sister) share a few moments before Hailey sits down to have her head shaved and donate her hair for wigs and to raise money for Addison's Wish Foundation. In front of hundreds of pink-clad students, Georgetown District High School student Hailey Robinson had her head shaved on Thursday in the school cafeteria. Proceeds of more than $4,000 raised over the last two weeks will be going to the Addison's Wish Founda- tion. Seven-year-old Addison Rolke of Georgetown passed away in June after a short battle with cancer. Her parents created the Foundation to direct funds to charities that provide support for families with hospital- ized children and cancer prevention. Hailey met the Rolke family just over two years ago when she started babysitting both Addison and her nine-year-old sister Alicia. Over the past couple years, Hailey built a special connection with both girls and after Addison's passing Hai- ley wanted to do something special in Addison's memory, and decided on the head shaving fundraiser. "I figured that if Addison could go through the battle that she did, then I can go without hair to make another child happy by receiving a wig," said Hailey. "Addie was very special to me and it is a cause that is near and dear to my heart." Hailey has set up a GoFundMe website so she can hopefully reach others.
