Rylee Baird decided on Oct. 5 she wanted to help the kids staying in SickKids but need- ed some help figuring out what to do. "Needless to say, she inspired me to get the ball rolling (as soon as possible) and execute her idea, which is where we came up with Warm Hugs for Sick Kids," Rylee's mother, Vanessa, wrote in an email. "My en- tire family and I have made it our mission to get her set up and we are going to work as a team and have it all planned out." Through hard work on the Baird family's part, SickKids approved the event and will take place this weekend. Warm Hugs for Sick Kids has already raised over $1,200 and even more of that in prizes. Starbucks Orangeville will be attending the event to hand out coffee, hot apple cider and treats with every donation that is made, big or small. Warm Hugs for Sick Kids will take place Nov. 7 and 8 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at 8 Mor- ris St., Georgetown. Anyone and everyone is invited to give little Rylee a big hug to help a greater cause. "It will be a heart warming event with the hug patrol team who volunteered to help Rylee out on her mission in honour of to- day's SickKids and our future SickKids," Van- essa said.
