COMMUNITY On behalf of the executive and branch we would like to thank our Poppy Chair Bob Doyle, our co-chair Julie Carney and our Past President John Wagg for organizing such a successful Remembrance Day Ser- vice. Thank you to our Sergeant of Arms, Frank Single for being parade marshall and organizing our colour party and to our La- dies Auxiliary for their colour party. The parade and service was beautiful. The weather was also good and we got through the service without the rain. It was very nice to see the streets full of people and children. We need to thank our veterans every day. We would not be here if not for them. A very special thank you to all of the vet- erans who came out for the parade and to the ones that have passed on. We will re- member them. We also thank Julie Carney for being MC at our branch service and Father Hetu, our padre for attending both services. The LA served a delicious roast beef dinner and we appreciate their hard work. Our Poppy Blitz started last weekend. We would like to thank all of the volunteers who came out to help. We also thank the mer- chants for having the poppy boxes in their stores. Thank you to our schools for participat- ing in our Remembrance Day Poster and Literary contests. There was a great display of your work for our service. Winners have been chosen and there will be an awards ceremony next month. On Nov. 29 your Bar Supervisor will be having a Smart Serve course starting at 12 p.m. sharp.
