It was a busy time at the Centre last Friday as we held our first Wellness Day. It all be- gan with the Grade 11 Choir from St. Roch's Catholic Secondary School. Once more we were treated to some very beautiful choral music. MP Michael Chong and Councillor Jon Hurst, acting on behalf of Mayor Rick Bon- nette, performed the ribbon cutting to offi- cially open the event at 10:30 a.m. Congratulations to Christine Keating, Terri, Sherry and Kim for spending the many hours to get it all to come together. There is so much pertinent information out there for seniors to improve our lives in many direc- tions and many came through the doors to pick up and hear about those many oppor- tunities. Hopefully we will see many of you at our Annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday. The doors will open at 8 a.m., a little earlier than in other years. What a great chance to pick up Christmas gifts and baking! The Centre's Annual Christmas dinner will be held on Thursday, Dec. 17, 12 p.m. Come out and join in a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Tickets are $25/member ($30/non-member). Seating is limited so purchase your ticket early. I have been asked to remind you that the Mingle and Chat group are holding one of their fun auctions on Dec. 2. The rules are simply to bring a new, wrapped gift to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Bids begin at 50 cents and cannot exceed $5. All proceeds go to the Centre. Many members have already renewed their membership for 2016. A reminder that renewals are due by Dec. 31, 2015. W Holidays are having an information session featuring their upcoming group holidays to many destinations.
