Approximately 150 pounds of non-perishable food items were donated and Dr. Sayal made a cash contribution to the Bread Basket, which services 350 local families and relies on 155,000 pounds of food donations to meet demands each year. "We'd like to thank Cathy for her incred- ible leadership in Acton," said Sara Orrell, Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, Wel- lington County Community Office of the Canadian Cancer Society. "Cathy has been a Canadian Cancer Society volunteer for almost 30 years and is currently the Branch President in the Acton community. This award recognizes Gerrow's efforts in the continuous support of the Society's activities. Orrell said Gerrow's sustained contribution demonstrates initiative, per- severance, originality and has furthered the efficiency within the community of Ac- ton. Gerrow and her team have positively enhanced the quality of life of those living with and beyond cancer.
