NEWS An Acton man was charged with drug trafficking last week following an investigation by Halton Regional Police The 1 District Street Crime Team received information that a local man was involved in the trafficking of cannabis marihuana in Acton. On Wednesday, officers ob- served the accused engage in a sus- pected drug transaction. The accused was found to be in possession of two pounds of canna- bis marihuana. A Controlled Drug and Substanc- es Act search warrant was executed at an Acton residence on Thursday and a further quantity of cannabis marihuana along with digital scales and drug packaging were seized. The street value for the seized drugs is approximately $10,000. Ryan Turpin, 33, has been charged with two counts of posses- sion for the purpose of trafficking in cannabis marihuana. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 23.
