The Georgetown Hospi- tal Foundation received $7,940 from donations made by visitors to the dis- play, which features thou- sands of mostly LED lights, while another $1,000 was given to the ALS Foun- dation. Funds for the hospital foundation will go toward the Project X digital X-ray machine fundraising cam- paign. Over the course of their 21-year hobby, the Lam- berts have raised $80,891 for various charities. Dar- ryl Lambert said he might call it quits once the $100,000 mark is reached. The Lamberts use a computer program called Light-O-Rama to synchro- nize the lights to music, then visitors tune in to 104.9 FM to listen and watch. Jasmine Sweatman B.A., J.D., LL.M., TEP., C.S., EPC, CPCA Certified Specialist in Estates & Trusts Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Estate Litigation and Administration, Corporate, Real Estate Q: A : An estate plan should include the making of powers of attorney. Why? Because they give you the choice to decide who will make decisions for you while you are still alive when you make decisions or need someone (a substitute decision maker) to make those decisions. In Ontario there are two kinds of powers of attorney: one for the management of property and one for personal care decisions. A Continuing Power of Attorney for Property can be as important as a Will as it appoints a person or persons of your choice to manage your assets in your place during your lifetime. Powers of Attorney for Personal Care give the person you have appointed as attorney the authority to make decisions relating to your personal and medical care decisions if you are unable to do so. This includes decisions related to hygiene, safety, clothing, shelter, nutrition decisions and the giving of consent to medical treatment.
