13| The IFP -H alton H ills | T hursday,M arch 8,2018 theifp.ca Students from George- town's Silver Creek Public School, along with a num- ber of schools and work- places all over Ontario, put on their best pink shirts to- day in an effort to speak out against bullying. The theme of this year's Pink Shirt Day campaign is promoting awareness about cyberbullying, and Silver Creek Public School engaged students from Grades 4 through 8 in a talk called Is it true, is it kind, is it you, which focused on the various types of cyber- bullying and what to look out for while being actively engaged online. The Pink Shirt Day movement first began in Nova Scotia in 2007, when students banded together to stand up for a Grade 9 boy being bullied for wear- ing a pink shirt. It has since become a movement cele- brated across Canada and around the globe. #PinkShirtDay Tweets COMMUNITY Silver Creek students celebrate Pink Shirt Day on Feb. 28.
