The company says it will be ceasing all vehicle operations on June 30, the end of the school year. The Acton transportation company was unsuccessful in their bid on the school bus- ing contract under the province's new pro- curement policies - a move that Halton Hills council has unanimously opposed in a mo- tion. "It is with great sadness that we share Tyler Transport Limited will be ceasing all vehicle operations on June 30, 2018," said Angela Tyler in a press release. She explained that Tyler Transport did in fact bid on the contract but was unsuc- cessful in its bid. "After considering all of our business op- tions, we have decided that this is the best course of action for our family and we are doing our utmost to support staff with their future endeavours." Town staff are currently in negotiations to establish how the Activan services will move forward. "Absolutely this affects the Activan ser- vices," said Bonnette, adding Tyler Trans- port has been the provider for 37 years. "Right now, Tyler Transport and our staff have had meetings on going forward. I am not privy to say what the solutions are at this time but what I had said last night is that there will an update from staff to coun- cil shortly." Bonette says that regardless of the cir- cumstances with the bus company, Activan will continue to be provided in Halton Hills. Staff will be bringing forth a report on Activan later this month. "I want to ensure the Activan users that there will be a service and that the town staff and council has no intention of cancel- ling the service it is a matter of how we go forward," said the mayor.
