PETS BENTLEY....Far too stressed in the Shelter SUNNY...Young cat with a huge personality Bentley gazes out of liquid expressive eyes at this new world he has to acclima- tize to and unfortunately it is not coming easy to him. Staff and volunteers do their best to allay his fears and comfort him, but this extremely sweet, loving senior lab is struggling. Imagine at 9 years old being abandoned by your family, left behind, silently "dumped" at the local Police Sta- tion - no wonder life seemed to end for Bentley. Bentley is handsome in his rotund Lab way and even though he is extreme- ly stressed his personality is sound, he is still great with other dogs, welcomes people of all ages; wants to be petted, tail wagging. Bentley is just totally confused as to why he is here and is always looking for his owners to come through that door which of course is not going to happen. We are hoping that YOU will come through that door and while realizing that Bentley has anxiety would offer him a home where he will have a lot of com- panionship for the majority of the day; to allay his sense of abandonment and help him feel secure again. The positives are that besides his very sweet nature, he LOVES to play fetch and go for leisurely walks (some of our walk- ers prefer to use a harness but he is capa- ble of walking on leash depending on the day and his level of excitement). Please take another look at that sweet eager face and if you feel Bentley might be right for your family please come soon as he needs to be rehomed as soon as pos- sible. Call UCHS Shelter at 519-833-2287 or email info@uppercredit.com to meet a re- ally deserving new companion. If you are looking for a young cat with a huge personality, we introduce Sunny. Yes, she is an orange tabby and comes with the typical orange personality. Sunny is vo- cal, intelligent, playful, affectionate and of course opinionated. Sunny is a ray of sunshine when she is happy but the clouds gather when she is displeased. She gives clear signals and plenty of time for her caregivers to comply with her wishes, then the sun immediately reappears and cuddles are required. Sunny is very clean with her food and water dishes and exceptionally clean with her litter box. To trim her nails, pre-plan- ning is necessary and a couple at a time is advised. She is not food oriented hence her ex- tremely lean body and she does not pester people at meal time. Sunny was raised as an only cat and she does not engage other cats in play but tolerates them. Another female or domi- nate cat would not be happy to share their home with her, although older males cats are exempt from her avoidance list. She may accept a calm dog - she has the per- sonality dogs enjoy. Experienced cat people seeking to liven up their home are needed for her new fam- ily. Sunny will be available for adoption this Sat. at Pet Valu 375 Mountainview Rd South from 2:00-4:00pm. The $160. cash adoption fee includes: vaccinations , para- site treatments, spaying, microchip and a bag of food.
