The alleged incidents date back to the 1980s, and involve students whom Wood taught private sing- ing lessons in his home. Wood was slated to put on a fundraiser concert called "Because of You," on April 8 at Knox Presbyteri- an Church. It was sup- posed to be a thanks to Georgetown Hospital staff who took care of him last year. "We were advised by Mr. Wood that he was cancel- ling the concert," said San- dra Taylor, of the George- town Hospital Foundation, a third party organization working with Wood to help organize the event. The hospital founda- tion refunded the tickets that were sold. Wood was released on recognizance. He is expec- ted to appear in court on April 23. The changes, launched on April 2, are giving residents more options and allow- ing them to recycle more products. Here are five things you need to know about the blue box recycling enhance- ments: Halton residents can now recycle plas- tic bags. Along with plastic bags, residents will be able to include plastic wrapping, such as that which typically packages toilet pap- er rolls. Residents will not be restricted to solely using their blue bins. Residents will have the option to leave their recycling in blue bins, clear plastic bags or a combination of the two. There are no limits to the number of bags or bins each resident can place outside for collec- tion. There is a correct way to recycle plastic bags. When using a blue bin, plastic bags and plastic wrap must be placed in a separate bag, prior to combining with other recycla- bles. Recyclables should be rinsed. All recycling products must be clean and dry prior to being placed out for collec- tion. Check your bags before recycling. When recycling plastic bags, check in- side. Make sure they are free of any items such as receipts or cardboard.
