T-012-18 RIVER DRIVE BRIDGE REHABILITATION WARD 2, GEORGETOWN The Town of Halton Hills is planning to rehabilitate the River Drive Bridge over the Credit River starting in the spring of 2018. The work includes traffic staging, removal of existing sidewalk, new sidewalk, curb, railing, guide rail, and asphalt wearing surface. During construction the road will remain open, limited to one lane for the duration of the project (August 2018). The Vision Georgetown Secondary Plan is a Town initiated Official Plan Amendment for the property bound by 15 Side Road to the North, Eighth Line to the East, 10 Side Road to the South and Trafalgar Road to the West (see map). Members of the public are invited to attend and provide input on the Town of Halton Hills draft Vision Georgetown Secondary Plan at this public meeting hosted by Town Council. There are two components to a Secondary Plan: 1) maps including a land use plan; and 2) policies to implement the plan. The Draft Secondary Plan provides a range of residential and commercial uses to accommodate approximately 18,000 people and 1,700 jobs for the 10 year period between 2021 and 2031. In addition to the residential and commercial uses, the draft Secondary Plan also includes a Natural Heritage System, a comprehensive transportation system (including active transportation), parks, schools, and a library/community centre to support this new community. Copies of the draft Secondary Plan will be available for public review beginning on April 17, 2018 in the Town of Halton Hills Planning and Sustainability Department and on the Town's web site at: www.visiongeorgetown.ca.
