"Our council and committee meetings are open to the public," said Mayor Rick Bonnette, "But I understand that spending hours at town hall may not appeal to the majority of people despite their interest in municipal business." There will be five cameras recording the proceedings in council chambers, each discreetly placed around the room. The cameras will be sound activated, recording councillors and speakers as they turn on their microphones. The new system is set to go live for the community and corporate affairs meet- ings as well as planning, public works and transportation.
