Halton Healthcare recently introduced a new pediatric clinic at Georgetown Hospital to complement its existing pediatric services and to meet the growing needs of the Halton Hills community. "We are very pleased to offer this new clinic as a resource to parents, families and community physicians in the Georgetown, Acton and surrounding areas," said Cindy McDonell, Chief Operating Officer, Georgetown Hospital. "In April 2016 Georgetown Hospital saw the successful re-launch of the obstetrics and gynaecology program with the arrival of two obstetricians," said Dr. Justin Busse, Associate Chief of Staff, Georgetown Hospital. "This was followed by the introduction of the Post Emergency Pediatric Clinic (PEPC) which provides follow-up for children who were first seen in the Emergency Department. The new Pediatric Clinic rounds out the pediatric service and fills a void in the services available within the community." Led by Dr. Hasan Al Shabanah, Medical Director of Pediatrics for Georgetown Hospital, the clinic is supported by a group of pediatricians and will provide much needed service for those in the community under the age of 18. Pediatric consultations are available regarding a wide range of health concerns ranging from behaviour challenges and weight loss to migraines. "We are delighted to be able to welcome physicians such as Dr. Al Shabanah and his colleagues to our hospital and continue to expand our services to better meet the needs of our community," concluded Cindy McDonell. To access the clinic, patients require a referral from a family physician, walk-in clinic, nurse practitioner or midwife. Referrals to the clinic can be faxed to 905-873-2953.
